EFB data collection

Aircraft Interface Device Data Collection

CCX Technologies' Aircraft Interface Device (AID), powered by the SystemX Operating System, is a multi-role platform that combines real-time data access, secure communication, and application hosting; all in one compact, certifiable unit.

Equipment running CCX Technologies SystemX Operating System can be used as a secure data source for Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) software running on any wirelessly connected tablet. The AID system enables seamless connectivity between avionics systems, EFBs, cabin services, and ground operations.

Data Collection

Raw Data Collection

Raw data can be collected and forwarded in real-time to EFB software from any avionics data bus with a CCX Technologies DataPHY Data Collection Pod or Supported Secure Router over WiFi.

Decoded Data Collection

Decoded data can be also be streamed from a SystemX Appliance (AP-150, AP-250, etc.), which collects raw data from one or more DataPHYs and decodes it. The same encrypted and authenticated interfaces that can be used to collect raw data from a DataPHY can be used to collect decoded data from an Appliance.

Secured with Mutual-TLS

Real-time data access can be delivered through WebSocket Secure (WSS) or HTTPS with JSON or other protocols based on customer integration needs. All data transmitted from SystemX over an API is encrypted using Mutual-TLS. Mutual TLS provides authorization and authentication so only EFB software with pre-registered keys can access the data streams.

Secure, Real-Time Delivery

With CCX Technologies' DataPHY AID solution, aircraft parameters are wirelessly delivered in real-time to pilot tablets for enhanced situational awareness. This AID also processes and relays ACARS messages from onboard systems to EFB apps and airline ground systems, supporting operational messaging and flight plan management.

This AID solution provides quick and secure access to system logs and health data for maintenance crews or ground support teams. System configurations and updates can be performed fleet-wide remotely and over-the-air.

A range of modern data delivery methods aligned with ARINC 834A-1 are supported, providing secure data connectivity over Wi-Fi, LTE, SATCOM, and Air to Ground systems. Both onboard and air-to-ground communication is supported.

Supported Platforms

Avionics data bus data can be collected with the CCX Technologies DataPHY Data Collection Pods. Some of our Secure Router platforms also support ARINC-429 and AFDX data collection. It is also possible to pull data into SystemX from other third-party data collections sources, like existing FOQA or data monitoring systems.

All DataPHY Data Collection Pods and Secure Routers include integrated WiFi Radios that can be used to transmit collected data to an EFB tablet.
